Having stood as a candidate for the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party in the challenging Glasgow East constituency, where he was born and bred, and then in the Central Scotland region for the Scottish Parliamentary elections in May 2016, Andrew is our Scottish representative on the TRG board.
Growing up in the once notorious Barrowfield estate in the East End of Glasgow, Andrew has witnessed firsthand the failure of both Labour and the Scottish Nationalists to redress engrained issues such as long term unemployment, substance abuse, poverty and crime. Andrew is a firm believer in the need to reform the delivery of public services to make society fairer for all, funded by a sustainable market-driven economy.
Andrew was one of the youngest in Scotland to qualify as an ACCA accountant whilst holding an Honours degree, and has worked in both financial services and public practice for over thirteen years. At present he is Director of his own growing chartered accountancy firm based in Glasgow, has served on the ACCA’s Members Panel with a special interest in fair access to the professions, and has voluntary experience spanning Young Enterprise Scotland, Citizens Advice Direct, and a range of community interest groups.
